See you at the Bitter End

See you at the Bitter End

See you at the Bitter End (to quote Placebo).

This is a tough one for me, so please bear with me if I go off on a tangent, get a bit ranty, or just make no sense at all. I’ve been putting off writing this for a long time, but since the countdown has now reached days as opposed to years and months, today is the day.

Of course, I’m referring to the new Vape Tax and legislation that is due to begin on 1st October 2026, just 28 sleeps away.

Basically, as vapers we are all in trouble and, honestly, we won’t know the full effects until HMRC stormtroopers begin kicking down doors and dragging people in front of judges for righteous punishment for daring to quit smoking and depriving the Government of their God-given right to all your hard-earned money (I did warn you in the first paragraph!).

If you wish to hang on to your money to pay your mortgage, feed yourself and your family, or put fuel in your car—you know, life's little luxuries these days—while continuing to stay smoke-free, this blog I wrote a while back may be of interest.

I’m not going to get into the details of the tax; that information is available everywhere and has been heavily discussed. This is more of a rant/FYI post.

What does it mean for LegioX?

Unfortunately, the taxes and restrictions are so high that we simply can’t carry on. That’s the top and bottom of it. There is a plan to struggle through until March 30th 2027, but it will be in a much-changed capacity from now until then.

Basically, we’ve kindly (sarcasm?) been given a 6-month window from 1st October '26 until March 30th '27 to sell any stock we manufactured before the new tax became live. Safe to say, we have A LOT of stock on the shelves which should see us through until February/March, but if a certain flavour sells out, we cannot, by order of HMRC, make any more. We will also be reducing our hardware stock and not replenishing anything that sells out, with the exception of Infinite Modz devices.

What happens after March with LegioX?

That’s the question and, honestly, I’m not 100% certain yet. My background and skills for the past 7 years have been flavour development and it’s the one part of LegioX I truly love. I suspect I’ll be staying in that field, but creating food and beverage-grade concentrated flavours under a new banner and stepping away from the vape world. Time will tell.

That’s all I have the energy to write today. If a particular flavour has become an All Day Vape for you, my suggestion would be to stock up while you can. An unexpected consequence that we are already seeing is flavour houses cutting back their lines, and certain flavours we use are becoming harder to source—this means certain lines may vanish sooner than anticipated. I’ll certainly try my very best, but I'm sadly swimming against the tide.

To sign off, a massive thank you from me and Lizzie for your support, custom and friendships over the years.

Goodbye and good luck.
